In School Projects: During the school year, we have ongoing community service opportunities during school hours. These projects are designed for Youth Volunteers who might be unable to serve their community outside of school hours, due to lack of transportation or other obligations and restrictions.
After School Projects: During the school year, we have ongoing community service opportunities during after school hours. These projects are designed for Youth Volunteers who want to make a more meaningful, long-term connection with the selected agency.
Weekend Projects: Most Saturdays throughout the year, YVC sponsors multiple community service projects for 12-18 year olds. A typical Saturday project is from 9am to noon or from 10am to 1pm, but we can adjust those hours depending on the project. For projects lasting more than three hours, we ask that a snack and beverage be provided for our Youth Volunteers and Team Leaders.
Summer of Service: As an agency, you can host ten (or twenty) youth for a week or one day of service-learning at your agency. From June 1st -July 31st each week, youth will serve Monday through Thursday, 9am to 3pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to not only accomplish a lot of work, but to introduce youth to the amazing work of your agency.
Special Projects: We like to offer as many service opportunities to our youth as possible. We often have large-scale volunteer projects that align with national volunteer days. For example, Global Youth Service Day, and the 9/11 Day Of Service. These are set up the in the same format as a regular project with an icebreaker and a service learning lesson.
